Hey there. I’m Casey Quackenbush, an award-winning journalist and contributor to New York Magazine. You can also find my work The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, and more.
I cover politics, conflict, and resistance. Most recently, I reported a cover story for Politico about the rebellion and escape of kidnapped Ukrainian teenagers from Russian indoctrination camps.
Previously, I was based in Hong Kong as a reporter with Time Magazine covering Asia-Pacific, where I wrote a cover story on the drought in Australia and profiled Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. Later, I covered the Hong Kong protests for The Washington Post.
I also publish a Substack called Contra Post.
